Peanut Butter n Jelly Chronicles

I learned the hard way so you wouldnt have to

🟢 THINGS TO DO(aka: boring, unsexy, absolutely devastating in hindsight)Write everything down immediately
Memory is a liar. Notes are forever.
Use email whenever possible
If it’s not written, it didn’t happen.
Timestamp everything
Dates, times, reference numbers. Always.
Ask for names and badge/employee numbers
Power hates being named.
Request things in writing, even if they said no verbally
“Can you confirm that in writing?” is a spell.
Assume every interaction may be reviewed later
Act accordingly. Calm is armor.
Save originals, work off copies
Evidence only has to disappear once to be gone forever.
Label folders like a boring accountant
Chaos fears organization.
Pause before responding
Silence is leverage.
Document outcomes, not intentions
What happened > what was meant.
🔴 THINGS NOT TO DO(aka: how I made it harder for myself)Don’t explain yourself unless required
Explanations create attack surfaces.
Don’t trust verbal reassurance
“Don’t worry about it” is not a record.
Don’t react in real time when emotional
That’s when mistakes happen.
Don’t assume people understand your situation
They don’t. And they don’t need to.
Don’t overshare to prove good faith
Good faith is not currency.
Don’t correct people mid-conflict
Let the record expose them later.
Don’t chase closure from systems
They offer process, not healing.
Don’t publish while something is still unfolding
Archive first. Speak later.
Don’t delete anything, even drafts
Past-you might’ve been onto something.
Don’t confuse urgency with importance
Pressure is often a tactic.
🧠 THE QUIET RULE (this is the devastatingly right part)Be consistent, not impressive. You don’t need to:sound smartwin argumentsconvince anyone immediatelyYou just need:a traila patterntime

May the vibes be always peanutbutter
